Ballet Theatre Productions in Tameside

DO you enjoy dance? If so, prepare to be transported to a storybook world where flamingos are used as croquet mallets and mad hatters take tea with march hares.

Following on from the success of “A Christmas Carol”, Ballet Theatre UK is returning to Tameside.

On Friday, 10 May 2013, 7.30pm  – Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”  another adaptation of a classic novel.

On Saturday, 23 November 2013, 7.30pm  performances of “The Nutcracker”  Tchaikovsky’s timeless Christmas favourite.  Both shows will be staged at the George Lawton Hall, Mossley.
Cllr John Sullivan, Tameside Council’s assistant executive member for music, culture and the performing arts, said: “Audiences for ‘Christmas Carol’ clearly show that there is an appetite for ballet in the Tameside area.

“We have responded by arranging two visits by one of Britain’s best companies. The Independent has described ‘Alice in Wonderland’ as one of the top five dance productions touring the UK.

“What’s more, we’ve held ticket prices at their 2011 levels, (£16 and £12), which represents tremendous value for professional ballet.”
